Summer Bucket List

July 19, 2019

If you’re anything like me, you probably spend the months of January through May longing for summer… And if you’re really like me, you also anticipate making each year’s upcoming break “the best one yet”.

A trending topic on Twitter this past year has been the hopes of making summer 2019 a re-creation of summer 2016 because there was just somethin’ about 2016 that really stuck with everyone. But, at least for me, this summer hasn’t been anything close to summer 2016 and now that it’s already July, it’s time to kick my bucket list into high gear.

If you feel like you were longing for an eventful break from school but have since fallen into the dull routine of eat, sleep… and work, then check out this summer bucket list that’ll hopefully help you turn your summer blues into summer to-dos.

1. Beach Day and Camping at the Warren Dunes – Sawyer, MI
Located just a couple hours drive from northern Indiana, Warren Dunes is the perfect place to get your “beach fix” without actually having to travel south- a.k.a. save that $$$. Pack a towel, some sunscreen, and a cooler for lunch and you’ll be set for the perfect day at the beach. Want to stay for more than a day?? Check out the campgrounds map here to get the full Warren Dunes experience! This is definitely one of my favorite things to plan out for my summer!

2. Field to Vase U-Pick Flowers -New Carlisle, IN
Ladies… I found out about this place on Twitter a while back and have been dreaming of it ever since. Field to Vase U-Pick Flowers is a flower patch where you go and create your own bouquet/vase of amazing picks from sunflowers to gophrenas to daisies. The creations are literally endless and the grand opening is coming soon! The patch also features live music, food, & vendors on special occasions so bring your bae or a group of friends and make a day of it! Check out their Facebook page here.

3. Cedar Point – Sandusky, OH
If you’ve never been to “The Roller Coaster Capital of the World”, now’s the time. For me, this is a must on my summer bucket list. If you’re not a fan of roller coasters, no worries. Cedar Point is packed with rides and activities that are a much less intense than some of their iconic coasters, but still a great time! Live for the thrill? Add Cedar Point to your bucket list! Be sure to check out this YouTube video of Cedar Point’s Top Thrill Dragster!

4. Ruoff Home Mortgage Center – Noblesville, IN
From rock to country and rap artists, Ruoff has concerts for them all. If you’re a die hard fan, you can purchase tickets for the pit, and if you’re looking for a more laid back experience, check out lawn tickets for an awesome price! I highly recommend going to at least one concert over break, and if you’re near Indiana for the summer, Ruoff is one of the best places for them! Find upcoming concert lineups and tickets here!

5. Drive-in Movie Theater Night
If you don’t have a drive-in movie theater in your town, there’s a pretty good chance that there is one relatively close by. Movie theater schedules are updated frequently, so you’re bound to find a movie that you and your pals will enjoy. I recommend bringing a car with a hatchback trunk or a truck, but if you don’t have access to either of those, lawn chairs work just as well! Throw on some comfy clothes, pack a bunch of blankets and snacks for the night, and you’re ready to go.

You don’t have to have a packed schedule to have an awesome summer, but if you’re feeling bored of your routine be sure to check some of these activities out! Schedule a couple big trips for the weekend or random day-trips here and there and you’re bound to be satisfied with your summer break! 🙂
